Thanks to SB 9 and AB 68, building ADUs is easier than ever. Reduced setbacks, fees waived under 750 sq ft. Detached units up to 1,200 sq ft. Attached units up to 50% of main home size (min 850 sq ft, or 1,000 for multi-bedroom). Conversions of existing structures have flexible size rules. Parking not required for accessory structure ADUs. No replacement parking when converting garages.
